The South Carolina Student Health Insurance is a health plan offered by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina for students attending one of the following universities

• Clemson
• Coastal Carolina
• Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC)
• The Citadel
• The University of South Carolina (USC)
• Winthrop

The identification cards for these members will have “Student Health Plan” on the front of the card to make them easily identifiable.

Members with this health plan have vision benefits, which are subject to a $20 copayment when services are rendered by an in-network provider and should not be billed more than their copayment.  This copayment includes the following:

• Eye exam
• Lenses up to $50 for single, $70 for bifocals and $400 for trifocals
• Frames up to $150
• Contact lenses up to $100

Note: All benefits are available once every 12 months.

When filing claims, as an in-network provider, you would follow the normal process for submitting claims to BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina.
